Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

Ingredients

Chai Concentrate:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 8 cardamom pods
  • 4 star anise
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 black tea bags
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Latte:

  • 3 cups Lactantia Lactose Free 2% milk
  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup chai concentrate
  • ¼ tsp pumpkin spice

Directions

Safety & Prep:

  1. Wash hands thoroughly and sanitize all work surfaces.
  2. Use the proper color-coded cutting board for each ingredient type.

Make Chai Concentrate:

  1. In a pot, combine water, cinnamon sticks, ginger, cloves, cardamom pods, star anise, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture to remove solids. Stir in sugar and vanilla until sugar dissolves.
  4. Store chai concentrate in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Prepare Latte:

  1. In a separate container, combine milk, pumpkin puree, and chai concentrate. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  2. Pour desired amount of milk mixture into a frothing container and froth until warm and foamy.
  3. Pour frothed latte into a glass, topping with foam.
  4. Sprinkle with pumpkin spice before serving.
